Newcastle Business Hub Marks Strategic UK Growth Move

Stewart Hunter Newcastle Regional Director

We are delighted to announce the opening of a new regional base in Newcastle, our first English office and a significant step in our UK expansion strategy.

Located at Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside, the six-figure investment in the new base marks a new chapter in our long-term growth plan and establishes a strategic foothold in North East England.

Launched to provide enhanced support to clients across Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Teesside and the wider region, the new regional base reinforces our commitment to delivering local service on a national scale.

Providing top-quality multifunctional printers and scanners, we focus on helping businesses transition to digital through a suite of workflow solutions. Through cloud-based print management and digitised systems, we play a key role in helping companies streamline operations, reduce costs, and meet environmental goals.

Headquartered in Aberdeen, we’ve achieved 150% growth and £3.8 million in revenue by the end of our 2025 financial year. The recently opened Newcastle office represents the next logical step in our expansion journey following our move into Scotland’s Central Belt.

“Opening a new office in Newcastle was a natural next step for us,” said Stewart Hunter, Regional Director for Carbon.

“Newcastle and the wider North East represent a huge opportunity, not just in terms of business growth, but in how we can better support the clients we already work with in the region.

“Having a regional presence will allow us to deliver a personalised service, tailored to the needs of each client. There is significant potential across a range of sectors including education, legal, manufacturing, and the energy industry.

“I’m proud to be leading our efforts here and look forward to contributing to the business community across the North East and beyond.”

With over 22 years of experience in the print industry, Stewart brings a deep understanding of client needs and has previously held senior positions within global print organisations.

Additionally, we are one of only two Platinum Partners currently operating in the region and also hold Diamond Partner status with Epson, reflecting our market-leading position and commitment to delivering best-in-class, energy efficient print solutions.

The move also supports our ambition to lead the market in sustainable, heat-free print technology and cloud-based digital workflows, helping clients meet both operational and environmental goals.

We have successfully completed in excess of 1,300 installations in the last financial year and onboarded 132 new clients to our sustainable printing services, with a number of major contract wins secured including Peterson’s, University of Aberdeen, Albert Bartlett, Px Group, St Andrews Links Trust, NWH Group, Brimmond, Houston Bottling & Co-Pack, Stork and Sentinol Marine.

Colin Yule, Carbon’s Managing Director, commented, “The North East of England is home to a dynamic and growing business landscape, and our Newcastle office puts us in the perfect position to support that with innovative, secure and energy efficient solutions.

“As we continue to scale, our focus remains on providing local, high-quality service backed by the strength of our partnerships and the expertise of our people.”

With our continued investment in people, infrastructure, and sustainability, we are poised for even further growth as we continue to redefine the future of printing and digital transformation across Scotland.
